The Court of First Instance of Sfax (Tunisia) has authorized an investigation into a shipwreck that occurred last Friday off the coast of Sfax and which has resulted in at least one migrant being killed and another ten missing.
The boat, whose members were all Tunisians, set sail on Friday from the coast of Zarzis, according to data from the authorities and collected by the Tunisian newspaper ‘Le Magreb’.
The prosecutor’s spokesman, Fawzi al Masmoudi, has reported that this Sunday the Coast Guard has saved eleven migrants at sea and that they have recovered the body of one person.
However, the rescue teams are still searching for another ten people.
