Today No Saturday Circulation: which cars can circulate and which ones rest on July 8

No Circulation Today Weekly Infographic 2023

Like every Saturday, the Today does not circulate Saturday. What does this mean? That some cars will have to rest and will not be able to access the spaces of the Metropolitan Zone of the Valley of Mexico (ZMVM), where the objective of reducing pollution and improving air quality will cause some cars to not be able to circulate.

What is No Circulation Today? It is a project that applies to all cars that move through the ZMVM, regardless of their license plate or the origin of the plates. What cars and license plates does the Today Does Not Circulate on Saturdays affect?

With the aim of reducing polluting emissions into the atmosphere, Hoy No Circula will restrict circulation to affected cars. They will not be able to move through the areas indicated between the 05:00 and 22:00.

How do you know which cars will not be able to move? These restrictions are set by the calendar, regardless of the origin of the registration. The indicated vehicles will not be able to circulate one day a week and two Saturdays a month.

So, what cars will not be able to circulate the Saturday July 8? In this case, they will be the cars with hologram 2 (which rest every Saturday) and those with hologram 1 with license plates ending in an even number, since we are in the second weekend of July.

With the aim of not always being the same cars that cannot circulate, the shifts are rotating, as specified in the image above. In addition, the Hoy No Circula program establishes some exceptions, which means that the following cars are not affected by the restrictions.

Those that run on electricity, natural gas or are hybrid

  • Those with hologram 0 and 00
  • Those with a disabled license plate
  • All those dedicated to urban transport services (includes funeral services)
  • Those that offer school or passenger transport
  • Those intended for public safety and/or civil protection

Pollution is not only making you live less and worse. It's making you dumber too

In case of breaching these restrictions, the fine will be 20 to 30 times the Unit of Measurement and Update (UMA), equivalent to 1,924.40 pesos And till 2,886.60 pesos.
