Aug. 28 (EUROPA PRESS) –
At least three people have died as a result of flooding caused by torrential rains in the northeastern Algerian province of Tebessa, according to the Algerian Civil Protection.
The agency said in a statement posted on its Facebook account that the body of a 16-year-old teenager was found in Bir el Ater in the last few hours, following the discovery of two other bodies in the same area on Tuesday.
The Civil Protection Department in Tebessa has confirmed that it has mobilised a significant number of personnel and material resources to search for other missing persons, so it is not ruled out that the death toll will increase in the coming hours, according to the news portal Tout sur l’Algerie.
Algerian authorities issued a new warning on Wednesday due to torrential rains in several provinces of the country, which has been affected by floods for days.
