VR mode of metal gear solid that you didn’t know you needed
A report of Kotaku gave rise to the Metal Gear Solid Mod, a proposal created by the modder Holydh who took on the task of turning the 1998 classic into a first-person virtual reality experience. The work so far has been almost handmade, trying to make Snake’s movements feel as organic as possible according to the game’s design and scope. The perspective of the scenarios and every detail has been sought to maintain the original style.
To begin with, this mod has a Museum mode where you can admire the 3D models of the characters as they were designed by the development team based on the abstract design of Yoji Shinkawa. This proposal is important because it allows us to know the design and complete characteristics of each character, since there are some that, given the history and the events, are not seen more than in a few moments.
So far, the game experience, adapted for VR device and controls, allows to play in the parts that welcome metal gear solid, that is the dock scene with the arrival of Solid Snake to Shadow Moses and the first stealth activities. The heliport that shows the nuclear complex that is in crisis and taken over by Liquid Snake and Foxhound, as well as the interior of the hangar with access to some rooms and of course the encounters with enemies.
