The congress Smart Energy Congressorganized by the EnerTIC Platformhas put an end to its tenth edition with the participation of more than 1,500 attendees, who have discussed digital innovation during two days, with the aim of improving energy competitiveness, setting their goals in terms of sustainability and analyzing strategies before the energy challenge.
The official inauguration was chaired by Mariano González, Deputy Minister for the Environment and Agriculture of the Community of Madrid, who highlighted Madrid’s commitment to innovation, digitization, energy efficiency and sustainability. After that, the professionals have filled the two halls of the IFEMA North Convention Center, in Madrid, following colloquiums and talks by nearly 150 ‘speakers’.
Under the title ‘Digital innovation at the service of energy competitiveness’the Congress has addressed current issues, such as energy volatility or the commitment to sustainability, while promoting “networking, open innovation and public-private collaboration” as “fundamental levers” to achieve the goals of sustainability and energy competitiveness, as highlighted by the organizers.
The ‘matchmaking’ meetings, linked to European funds, have been other of the activities that, within the framework of the Congress, have allowed to promote collaboration among attendees. On the other hand, the luncheon-discussion held on the first day of the Congress brought together more than a hundred executives from public administrations and companies.
TECHNOLOGIES AS THE AXIS OF CHANGE
Technologies such as 5G, IoT or Edge Computing, as well as the enhancement of innovative solutions, have also been protagonists of the conference, being presented by the speakers as the “main tools” to be able to achieve the energy and digital transition in cities, industries, the energy sector and large technological infrastructures.
In this context, some of the the finalist projects of the EnerTIC Awards, success stories selected as best digitization projects for energy efficiency. The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony, which will take place on December 15 at the headquarters of the Secretary of State for Digitization and Artificial Intelligence.
The Platform has stated that it is already working on the new plan of activities for next year. Among the objectives are “to continue growing and working for a sustainable and digital future”, consolidating the Smart Energy Congress as “one of the most interesting and relevant meetings in the energy context, not only for Madrid, but also for Europe”. The 2023 edition will be held on October 4 and 5.
