The virtual stores of Nintendo Wii and DSi are operational again after four months down

This portal has recalled that players will not be able to make purchases within these platforms, an option that stopped being available “years ago”. They will only be able to access previously purchased video games from the ‘Downloaded titles’ tab.

Wii U and 3DS DIGITAL STORES WILL CLOSE IN 2023

The ups and downs of the Nintendo Wii and DSi digital stores have temporarily coincided with the announcement of the closure of the virtual points of sale for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS. This closure will take place at the end of March 2023.

Additionally, users will still be able to redeem download codes until the end of March 2023. After that, users will no longer have the option to purchase the digital version of any game through this store, although the possibility of downloading previously purchased content will remain.

The closure of the Nintendo digital store for the Wii U and 3DS video game consoles will have two phases, the first beginning on August 29 of this year, when it will no longer be possible to add funds to an account with a Nintendo eShop Card.
