The United States special representative for Afghanistan, Thomas West, regretted this Friday the shooting carried out against a group of tourists in the city of Bamiyan, in central Afghanistan, in which three Spaniards died and another was injured. .

“The United States is deeply saddened to learn of the shooting attack in Bamiyan, which killed and injured Afghan civilians and foreign nationals. Our thoughts are with those who lost loved ones. Violence is not the answer,” he said in social network

The spokesperson for the Afghan Ministry of the Interior, Abdulmatin Qani, has reported on the aforementioned social network that four people have died from the shooting, three of them foreigners, while one is a national. Likewise, four other tourists have been injured.

For his part, the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, has confirmed that three Spaniards have died and has expressed himself “overwhelmed” by the news. “I am following the situation punctually,” he wrote in a message published on the social network X.

According to Foreign Affairs sources, another Spaniard has been injured. Sánchez has also communicated that “the Consular Emergency Unit of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is working to offer all the necessary assistance” and has conveyed his affection to the family and friends of the deceased.
