The United Kingdom Defense Minister, Grant Shapps, has warned that the recent visit to North Korea by Russian President Vladimir Putin should be taken as a “warning”, so it is necessary to strengthen the Armed Forces to “deter” this “new axis of tyranny.”

Shapps has described as “bizarre” the images that have emerged from the military parade organized in the North Korean capital, Pyongyang, on the occasion of Putin’s visit, which is what should be taken, he explained on his X account, as a “warning “that both countries are working to undermine freedoms.

“Only by strengthening our Armed Forces will we be able to dissuade them,” he wrote, directing the warning internally, now that early elections are being held on July 4. “The Labor Party wants to leave us defenseless while our enemies target us,” he said.

Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un signed a “strategic partnership” agreement this Wednesday with a mutual defense clause in the event of aggression, an agreement sealed during the Russian president’s first visit in 24 years.
