One of the biggest agitators of the far-right ecosystem in Spain has made the leap into politics. Luis Pérez, known as ‘Alvise’ on social networks where he accumulates hundreds of thousands of followers, heads the ‘Party is over’ list for the next European elections with the promise of using the seat in the European Parliament to end a political and media “mafia”. After harassing progressive politicians and journalists, spreading hoaxes and leading the first demonstrations in Ferraz, Alvise Pérez has decided to arrive in Brussels, be arrested and protected from at least two criminal cases for disseminating judicial or falsified documentation. What he, in his daily Telegram messages to his digital parish, defines as trying to prevent the powers that be from ending his supposed fight against corruption.
The first polls give the far-right agitator possibilities. The CIS published this week projects between one and two seats in Brussels for Pérez. According to the barometer, the group of voters that he leads aspires to obtain between 2.9 and 3.% of the votes. Ahead of, among others, Junts, the nationalist CEUS coalition led by the PNV and the candidacy of emptied Spain.
