25 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Taliban have announced this Saturday that they have prevented a suicide attack in front of a bank in the province of Badajsán, in the north of the country.
The terrorist was going to detonate an explosive vest in front of a crowd gathered outside a branch in the provincial capital, Faizabad, but the Taliban managed to shoot him down before he detonated the charge, according to Tolo News.
In December, a senior Taliban official and two of his bodyguards died in this province after a car bomb attack claimed by the Afghan affiliate of the Islamic State.
After the return to power of the Taliban in August 2021, the Islamic State has intensified its attacks in Afghanistan, mainly against religious minorities, the fundamentalists themselves, and foreign diplomatic centers.
