The subscription that Netflix hides because it is more beneficial for you now that you cannot share an account

Netflix

As you well know, in Netflix there is a very serious problem in the form of users and benefits. After a decade of growth, last year it had to face the inescapable reality that no service can grow without stopping. At some point your potential audience runs out.

that happened to Netflixa company that had based its economy and business plan on having more users each quarter than in the previous year. Although there were losses along the way. The goal was to get hundreds of millions of users to maintain the platform.

And with more than 200 million customers worldwide, the wheel stopped turning when no customers were gained in one of the quarters of 2022.. In that exercise, Netflix executives saw that they had not increased subscribers. And what’s worse, they had lost a few hundred thousand. HBO Max and Disney+ they rubbed their hands.

That’s where the alarms went off and the anti-crisis measures began: cheap rate with ads and end of shared accounts. This last movement has become effective in Spain, where it will cost them several million voluntary casualties, while the first measure has not worked since day one that it was established. Now Netflix wants to sell it anyway with this master move.

Netflix’s trick to sell the rate with ads

If we look at the photo that heads these words, we can see how the company only promotes three different Netflix subscription rates. The Basic with ads, the Standard and the Premium. Explained each one in the image (with the difference in streaming quality and prices) one wonders: weren’t there four instead of three options?

If you have fallen into missing one, you are right. ANDOn Netflix we have the Basic option with ads that costs 5.49 euros per month and then there is the basic option without ads that has been raised to 7.99 euros. In other words, a difference of €1.50 that seems to be profitable for the series and film platform via streaming.

Netflix

At Netflix they have been wanting to boost their ad business within the platform and the only way they have to achieve it is to increase the number of users. And of course, for less than two euros a month one prefers not to swallow ads and see everything without annoying interruptions.. This is what we all think and that is why Netflix has made the move of, as you can see in the photo above, hiding that option.

To see all the subscription options we have to click on the small warning that says “See all subscription plans”. Once we click, the four rates appear. We have just verified it and we can confirm that Netflix continues to resort to this move to better sell its option with advertising. On HBO Max and Disney+ they rub their hands.
