The president of the European Commission congratulates Netanyahu on taking office his new government

Dec. 29 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, congratulated the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, on Thursday for forming a coalition government that integrates different parties, including far-right formations, among its ranks.

“We look forward to working to strengthen our association, promote peace in the Middle East, and address the ripples created by Russia’s war against Ukraine,” he said on his official Twitter profile, thus adding to the congratulations from the United States.

Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelensky has also spoken on the aforementioned social network, assuring that he hopes to face “common challenges” and “victory over the forces of evil” together with Netanyahu, in reference to Russia.

For its part, Moscow has issued a brief statement, collected by the TASS news agency, in which it stresses that it hopes that its appointment will strengthen “stability and security” in the Middle East. “We are open to constructive cooperation with the Netanyahu government to further strengthen and expand Russian-Israeli cooperation,” the Russian side added.

Another of those who has spoken has been the Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orbán, who has assured that they are ready to strengthen cooperation with Israel. “Hungary continues to support Israel against biased and unfair approaches on the international scene,” he added.
