The PP has demanded this Wednesday that the Government negotiate another decree law with energy saving measures and separately approve a new one with the planned aid for transport and scholarships for the study that already contains the decree law that is voted on Thursday, which has called for “paralyze”.
In a press conference in the Lower House, its parliamentary spokesperson, Cuca Gamarra, has justified the rejection this Thursday of the ‘popular’ to the energy saving decree as it is a plan “unilaterally approved” and that “represents an imposition” . “They are not recommendations, but obligations”, she has lamented.
For this reason, he has demanded to rethink the energy saving measures, to negotiate them with the merchants –“the main affected”, he said–, the autonomous communities and the opposition, and to approve another decree law with the aid contemplated in the decree, which they do endorse, and that they call for expanding road transport with others.
PROPOSES RECOMMENDING INSTEAD OF FORCING
Regarding what should change in the energy saving plan to comply with what was ruled by the European Commission in the context of the crisis unleashed by the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Gamarra has opted for Spain to achieve a reduction in its consumption through recommendations and not obligations, such as those contained in the decree for air conditioning temperature or street lighting.
“There is a huge difference between imposing something and recommending”, he argued, assuring that “the Spanish are responsible and aware” and that, therefore, “they will accept that recommendation if it is compatible with the exercise of their economic activity”.
The parliamentary spokesperson for the PP has lamented that these measures, which affect businesses in terms of hours or “additional expenses simply to open the door”, have been “imposed” without prior dialogue, for which she has demanded that they be reconsidered and other measures approved after a negotiation.
