The PP appoints former minister Iñigo de la Serna coordinator of the electoral program for the May elections

The Popular Party has appointed the former Minister of Development Íñigo de la Serna as coordinator of the electoral program for the municipal and regional elections on May 28, as announced in a statement. The party announced days ago that the general coordinator of the party, Elías Bendodo, will be the one who will act as campaign manager.

De la Serna will be in charge of drafting a framework program that will serve as a base and reference for the candidates from all over Spain, apart from the specific programs with which each of them will compete in the next elections.

The PP considers that De la Serna’s municipalist profile makes him “the ideal person to translate the PP’s proposals as opposed to the failed socialist policies.” The formation affirms that it trusts in the capacity and experience of De la Serna to prepare a document that “shows the alternative that the Popular Party represents to a Socialist Party incapable of solving the problems of the Spaniards and that weakens our institutional system.”

“The electoral program of the PP will be the party’s commitment to the voters that another way of governing is possible and will also collect contributions from people from civil society and outside the Popular Party,” they added in the statement.

De la Serna is a Civil Engineer from the University of Cantabria. He was mayor of Santander, president of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces and Minister of Development of the Government of Spain.

Currently, he is an Independent Director of TYPSA and Banco de Caminos, General Director of Madrid Green Urban Mobility Lab and professional consultant for companies and multilateral organizations in infrastructure, technology, sustainability and environment, mobility and urban management projects, among others. .
