The new leader of the Italian Democratic Party, Elly Schlein, has taken advantage of her presence at a mobilization of homoparental families in Milan to promise the future processing of a law in Parliament to regulate these situations.

Some 10,000 people, according to the organizers, have participated in the demonstration for the recognition of the rights of the children of same-sex couples, held in the Scala square under the slogan “Hands off our sons and daughters.”
The demonstration is a response to the suspension imposed on the Milan City Council against the registration of newborns as children of two fathers or two mothers.
