The Government will meet again tomorrow at the pensions table, seeking to move towards an agreement in principle

Jul 28. () –

The Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration will hold a new social dialogue table on pensions on Monday, seeking to move towards an agreement in principle after sending the social agents the regulatory texts on the issues that are being negotiated.

At this table, issues such as the collaboration of mutual insurance companies with Social Security, the reduction coefficients for arduous and dangerous activities to be established in order to bring forward retirement, the recovery of the 1.5 multiplier coefficient for fixed-term workers and the compatibility between work and pension, among others, are being settled.

As regards the general approach to partial retirement, the Government has proposed extending the possibility of early retirement from 2 to 3 years. In addition, as in the case of the manufacturing industry, the Government has also proposed improving the working conditions of the relief worker and a new, more balanced and flexible approach for the company regarding the working hours of the relief worker and the pensioner.

PRICE INCREASE IS REMOVED FROM THE TABLE

The UGT claimed that the “compensation” that workers had to assume for this 3-year advance was that they had to accumulate 38 and a half years of contributions, although this issue was withdrawn from the table at the following meeting.

The Secretary of Public Policies and Social Protection of CCOO, Carlos Bravo, explained this week after the last meeting that there is still some matter in this section, since the Government is considering increasing the requirement to access partial retirement with a replacement contract to 34 years instead of the current 33.

“This certainly affects a limited number of people, but they are overwhelmingly women and so we have argued that gender-biased elements make no sense,” she said.

The union will also analyse the proposal on the quality of employment for replacements, i.e. who takes the place of the partially retired person, which must improve the quality of employment because it was a fundamental part of the requirements.

“And the quality of employment of the replacement means that they are people with an open-ended, full-time contract, in a non-amortisable job and with a contribution base that improves the previous one,” explained Bravo.
