iRobot has just released its first Roomba vacuum which itself has a smart control to activate mopping mode.
Currently the robot vacuum cleaner Roomba is something quite common in many houses despite the fact that we talk about a price something high. If we already combine it with the option that many have of also mopping the floor, possibly we are before the assistant prefect.
However, these robots they usually require switching from one system to another manually for it to do its job correctly. Well this, with the new roomba from iRobot, it disappears. And it is that, this company has announced its first robot vacuum cleaner and mop, the Roomba Combo j7+, along with iRobot OS 5.0 updates.
It is true that we are talking about a price something high, €929, but we are faced with robots that combine both cleaning elements into one without the need to accommodate some instruments or others.
“Until now, many 2-in-1 robot vacuums and mops offered a poor user experience, either because they required separate time-consuming cleaning jobs or because they created more mess by not fully raising the mop pad high enough to prevent carpet and rugs” says Keith Hartsfield, product manager for iRobot.
How the mechanism of this new Roomba vacuum cleaner / mop works
The Roomba Combo j7+ includes advanced sensors that allow it to detect various types of floors.
And so, this is essentially the Roomba j7 robot vacuum cleaner with an integrated cleaning pad. The previous one minimally raised the pad to vacuum, running the risk that a carpet, for example, would get a little wet. This, with this novelty, is solved.
The new embedded operating system, along with the robot’s PrecisionVision navigation system, allows recognize and avoid more than 80 common objects that we can find anyone in a house.
It features a slightly smaller hub to make room for a 210ml water reservoir and a larger 1000mAh battery. 4,400 mAh for cleaning to perfectly complete both tasks.
Also note that this roomba features smart room mapping, scheduling and virtual exclusion zones controlled in the app, and works with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant and Siri Shortcuts for voice control.
