Asus has announced that its first Asus ROG Ally portable console, which debuts a custom-made AMD Ryzen Z1 series processor with RDNA 3 graphics and a 120 Hz Full HD screen, will arrive in Spain on June 13, for a price of 799 euro.
The Taiwanese company anticipated the presentation of this portable game console at the beginning of April, with which it hoped to take computer titles anywhere, with a format similar to the platform developed by ValveSteam Deck.
Days later, he released more technical specifications about the console, when he indicated that he would mount a series processor AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme custom built with RDNA 3 graphics as well as a 120Hz Full HD (1080p) display and Zero Gravity thermal system.
Now Asus has delved into the features of what is its first portable console, ROG Ally, which will be on sale worldwide from June 13 from 799 euro, and that can already be reserved through its website.
Asus ROG Ally is presented as a platform capable of offering Full HD games -even AAA titles-, running for it Windows 11 and that it can play any title from any platform thanks to the fact that its processor has been developed on the Zen 4 architecture.
The console comes equipped with 16GB of 6400MHz LPDDR5 memory and 512 GB of PCIe Gen 4 storage, as well as a UHS-II microSD card slot, aimed at further expanding its storage capacity.
Asus has revealed that the 7-inch screen is multi-touch with 10 touch points and that it is reinforced with Gorilla Glass Victus and DXC, has a maximum brightness of 500 nits and reaches 60 frames per second (fps). In addition, it has technology AMD FreeSync Premiumthanks to which you can play action titles without ‘tearing’ or interruptions.
As for the controls, the manufacturer has commented that it has the usual A, B, X and Y buttons, as well as left and right analog triggers with hall effect, two programmable grip buttons, HD haptics and gyroscope.
Weighing 608 grams, the new Asus ROG Ally introduces artificial intelligence (AI) noise cancellation technology, Dolby Atmos, Hi-Res Certification, and a two-speaker system with smart amplifier.
With this console, the ROG Gaming Charger Dock accessory is introduced, which is optional and with which players can connect the platform to a television and charge it at the same time.
It can also be combined with an external XG Mobile GPU with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 GPU for laptops -which can be purchased for 1,899 euros- to optimize the performance of the console in AAA games with 4K resolution.
