Taiko no Tatsujin Rhythm Festival will arrive on October 14 with an edition that includes a Japanese drum

Bandai Namco has announced that Taiko no Tatsujin Rhythm Festival, the next installment in the Taiko no Tatsujin franchise after four years, will be available in Europe on October 14 for Nintendo Switch. In addition to setting a release date for the game and showing a new trailer, the Japanese company has revealed the existence of three editions, among which we have one that includes the base game in physical format along with a taiko drum.

The Taiko Drum Set edition, which includes the basic edition of Taiko no Tatsujin Rhythm Festival together with the Japanese drum and two drumsticks, is priced at 119.99 euros. The taiko drum, which looks identical to the one that was released four years ago alongside the game Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum’n’Fun!, has built-in buttons and directional buttons for menu navigation and song selection, a slot for store a pair of drumsticks and offers the option of adjusting its stability by “placing a bottle or two of water under your head”.

Bandai Namco has also indicated that at a date yet to be specified, it will release a digital deluxe edition that will contain the basic edition and a 90-day access to the Taiko music pass. Despite the fact that the reservation campaign is already active, as of today it is unknown what price this digital edition will have or the basic one in physical format. Regarding the Taiko music pass, it is a paid subscription that allows players to access a catalog of more than 500 songs that is expanded every month. Details will be offered later.

As for Taiko no Tatsujin Rhythm Festival, the game will be released with 76 songs. In addition to these songs, which will be available in Taiko mode, players will also be able to complete a Story mode where they join DON-Chan and Kumo-Kyun on a journey to master the drum. There are also online modes to compete with players from all over the world and the Party mode for four participants. Throughout the different modes, players will earn Don Coins that allow them to get items such as costumes or badges with which to customize their appearance.
