We receive interesting news related to Nintendo Switchsince this July 11 the console has just become the one that has remained on the market the longest without being replaced by a successor.
As you probably know, the hybrid was released on March 17, 2017, so it has been around for over 6 years or, to be exact, 2,687 days as Nintendo’s primary console and it looks like it still has a few months left as such.
This data confirmed that the Nintendo Switch’s lifespan has officially surpassed Nintendo’s previous longest-lasting console, the Famicom (NES), which stood at 2,686 before the Super Famicom (SNES) was released.

As you may have noticed, since the launch of the Famicom (known as the Nintendo Entertainment System outside of Japan), the gap between new console releases was narrowed with the Nintendo 64 and GameCube, until the Wii widened it again thanks to its tremendous success.
However, the failure of the Wii U caused its life cycle to be reduced considerably and it only reached 1,566 days, but with the Nintendo Switch a new record has been achieved that will continue to grow until the arrival of its successor.
When will Nintendo Switch 2 be announced?
Nintendo confirmed last May that it will announce its next console this fiscal year, which ends on March 31, 2025, so it is only a matter of months before the community knows what the company will offer in the coming years.
It is worth mentioning that, despite the proximity of the expected announcement of the new platform, the hybrid maintains a very striking release schedule with games of the caliber of The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, Pokémon Legends: ZA and Metroid Prime 4: Beyondwhich will surely help it become the best-selling console in history.
