The spokesman for the Sudanese Armed Forces, Nabil Abdullah, described Ethiopia’s statements on Wednesday about the alleged execution of seven Sudanese soldiers and a civilian by the Ethiopian Army, as “irresponsible and lacking in credibility”.

The Government of Ethiopia denied on Monday that its Army is responsible for the murders of a civilian and seven Sudanese soldiers, as the Sudanese Executive had previously affirmed.

“We have seen these statements, and they are not responsible and lack credibility. Ethiopia is a state responsible for its citizens, whether they are gangs, militias or armed forces,” Abdullah said in an interview on the Sudania 24 channel, as reported by ‘Sudan Akbar’.

In his opinion, what happened on Monday was that a reconnaissance patrol that left the ‘al Osra’ area, seven kilometers from the international border in the ‘al Fasqa al Sojra’ area, was attacked by the Armed Forces Ethiopians.

The Sudan Army earlier Monday accused the Ethiopian Army of executing a civilian and seven captive Sudanese soldiers and displaying their bodies in public. Sudan assured that it would retaliate against Ethiopia for this event.
