Thirty-six students from 16 countries around the world will participate in the twenty-fifth version of the Development Policy Studies Program of the Latin American School of Development Studies (ELADES) of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), which will be held between July 8 and August 30, 2024 in person at the headquarters of the United Nations agency in Santiago, Chile.
283 people from 29 countries around the world applied for this edition of the Program. The 36 selected students come from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, China, Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Spain, Guatemala, Italy, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Dominican Republic and Uruguay.
The Development Policy Studies Program for Latin America and the Caribbean (formerly “Summer School”) was created in 2000 and since then more than 600 students from different countries and universities have participated. The classes are taught by academics and experts who make up the different substantive divisions of ECLAC.
It is a plural space of thought that promotes discussion, reflection, generation and exchange of ideas on Latin American problems, based on the specialized contributions of the different areas of study of ECLAC and advances in development issues.
In this way, ECLAC seeks to maintain its link with the university world, with students from inside and outside the region, contributing to their training in development issues.
