On July 1, it was announced that star link requested permission to operate in Colombia. The country would be added to the list of more than 32 nations around the world that, as of May 2022, have the satellite internet service owned by billionaire Elon Musk.

Starlink is a division of the aerospace company, SpaceX, which uses a constellation of 1,700 satellites in low Earth orbit to provide internet access broadband.
“The goal is to cover the planet with affordable and reliable broadband connectivity, with an emphasis on communities in remote areas that have little or no access to internet services,” says the company.
Starlink’s basic plan includes a satellite connection speed of between 50 and 250 Mbps, with a latency of between 20 and 40 milliseconds. The Premium plan promises speeds of 150 Mbps to 500 Mbps, with the same latency.
Starlink posted a map on its website showing all the areas that already have satellite internet service available. The nations ‘available’ are in light blue, among which stand out Australia, Brazil, Chile, United States, Canada and most of Europe.
Countries on ‘waiting list’ appear in medium blue and ‘coming soon’ in dark blue.
In total they are 32 nations with authorized deploymentalthough, as can be seen, many are in the phase of observation and final adjustments.
