square enix It will no longer tolerate the harassment that some fans of its video games and services commit to company employees, a behavior that will be penalized with the exclusion of its products and legal action.
The Japanese video game studio “will not tolerate harassment and will take necessary measures,” has assured in the statement with which it updates its harassment policies for group clients, applicable globally.
“Certain customers take action directly or through our support centers, or towards our executives, employees and group partners who are involved in the creation and distribution of our group products and services, such as denial of personality, violence, defamation, intimidation, prior notice of wrongdoing, prior notice of obstruction of business, harassment”details.
Since “such actions not only prevent employees and partners from doing their jobs with a sense of security, but also cause disruptions to other customers,” Square Enix has decided to penalize these behaviors.
Specifically, they have stated that when they detect that a person “exceeds socially acceptable behavior or is harmful,” they reserve the right “to stop providing support services or refrain from providing the products and services of our group.
And in those behaviors with malicious intent, “Square Enix reserves the right to protect its employees and partners and to take legal action or criminal proceedings after consulting the police or lawyers,” he adds.
The study distinguishes this behavior from the criticism offered by the followers of their franchises, to whom it recognizes that their comments and requests “are essential for the advancement of our group’s products and services.”
