Snap shows off its subscription program: Snapchat+

Snapchat+ seeks to give users access to exclusive and experimental features. So far this service already has more than 3 million users and is looking to integrate more. In fact, Verizon customers in the US will be able to subscribe as part of the +play platform.

It should be noted that this format has not been well received on other platforms, such as Twitter. In fact, of the 420,000 verified accounts on the platform, only 12,305 have subscribed to Twitter Blue, according to Statista, which represents just over 3%. But in the case of Snap, this number seems to be higher as it has a stronger subscription program.

“We’re innovating on our signature Stories format, originally launched in 2013 from Snapchat, with a sharing tool called ‘After Dark.’ We are also expanding Community Stories to more universities in the US”, the company pointed out at its Summit.

More changes to Snapchat Stories

In December, at its Lens Fest event for AR creators and developers, Snap noted that its AR ecosystem continues to grow, now reaching more than 300,000 creators and developers who have created more than three million AR lenses.

In addition, they added new features and capabilities for Lens Studio, their AR development software for experts or novices, enabling more immersive experiences. They also emphasized that nearly 1.7 billion Bitmoji digital avatars have been created, up from 1 billion last year.

In other news, they have a new program that places ads inside select creators’ Stories, providing recurring cash payouts for their actual “behind the scenes” content.

We’ve also made it easier than ever to become a content creator on Snapchat and grow an audience by giving Snapchatters ages 18 and older the ability to post a public story.

Spotlight now has more than 350 million monthly active users, and time spent viewing Spotlight content has grown by more than 170% in the last year.
