Abdelrahman Abdalá Juri, in charge of managing the camps in the town of Kass, has detailed in statements given to the Radio Dabanga station that all the deceased were between one day and two years old, before adding that they have been registered around one hundred cases of severe malnutrition.

Thus, he has indicated that the medical teams have detected 50 cases in the Abdelyabar camp, to which another 47 are added in El Batari, which has led the organizations that work there to request an increase in aid, given the restrictions imposed by the parties due to the conflict.

A senior official in the organization of these camps has indicated that the displaced are fleeing towards the border with Chad due to the lack of food and medicine, following the warning raised by the United Nations regarding the complicated situation in the camps in the neighboring country. , located in remote areas.

The war, which in recent months has had one of its main epicenters in Darfur, broke out on April 15, 2023 due to strong disagreements regarding the integration process of the paramilitary group within the Armed Forces, a situation that It caused the definitive derailment of the transition opened in 2019 after the overthrow of Omar Hasan al Bashir’s regime.
