Seremi de Ciencia Centro Sur and CRHIAM seek to recognize young researchers

The scientists must belong to or be attached to universities, research centers or other research and development entities present in the regions of O’Higgins, Maule, Ñuble and Biobío, since one will be recognized for each mentioned region.

“The objective of this recognition is to make visible the work of young researchers in our macro-zone. Both decentralization, women’s participation in science and climate change are priorities for our president Gabriel Boric Font. We know that the participation of women in research and development is close to 30%, and this number falls in some areas of knowledge, such as the case of water resources. For this reason, actions like these allow us to make visible young researchers from our macro-zone, who carry out impact science in regions”, said the Seremi de Ciencia, Dr. Sofía Valenzuela.

For Dr. Gladys Vidal, director of the Fondap CRHIAM Center, “this call is an invitation for young researchers working in the area of climate change, in the area of water resources and sustainability, to see their work recognized. To face the challenges present in our world, such as the water crisis, it is essential to give voice and make visible the enormous contribution that scientists make to empower the territory, especially in the South Central Macrozone of our country, ”she indicated.
