Samsung Knox Security Platform – SAMSUNG
July 20 (EDIZIONES/Portaltic) –
Samsung reinforces its commitment to security with its Samsung Knox platformwhich presents new functionalities to guarantee the protection of private users and companies, after announcing that there are already more than 20,000 companies that use these services around the world.
Since its introduction in 2013, Samsung Knox has evolved into a comprehensive security management platform, that protects the mobile devices of millions of users and companies around the world against the most sophisticated threats.
The Samsung Knox platform is based on the security solutions that Samsung incorporates from the outset -at the manufacturing stage- in the chips of the different devices. In this way, it protects companies and consumers who use phones, tablets, computers or other products of the brand.
In total, they are over 100 million Samsung devices “From the moment the user takes it out of the box and turns it on,” explains the company. These devices have multi-layered ‘hardware’ and ‘software’ security features that are always enabled.
Specifically, they contain overlapping defense and security mechanisms that protect personal or company data against intrusions, ‘malware’ and malicious threats. In addition, the Samsung Knox security platform is the foundation for various solutions and services, such as Samsung personal apps and business solutions.
ENCRYPTED SPACES AND PRIVACY INDICATORS
Among the solutions available for users and companies is ‘Secure Folder’, a private and encrypted space that can be created on Galaxy devices and that allows you to store private data and applications with total security.
The company’s devices also offer the option to control in a simple way which applications have access to the user’s location and when they can use it. In the same way, advertising can be excluded, choosing from the mobile device itself which applications can display ads.
On the other hand, Samsung devices have a privacy indicator that allows you to know instantly if an app tries to access your microphone, camera, or location. In this way, the user can block any threat to the security of their data.
Another interesting function is the possibility of use fingerprint as ‘key’ to access private folders. Also, by being connected with the Samsung Health application, the Samsung Knox platform can protect the indicators and health data that are generated, something that also concerns users.
SOLUTIONS FOR COMPANIES
Added to this basic security is the portfolio of Knox cloud solutions, which enables businesses to configure, customize, deploy and manage their devices to meet diverse and specific needs. Knox protects your device from the inside out, so sensitive data remains secure wherever work takes you.
In the new labor context, marked by the pandemic and the increase in teleworking, cybersecurity risks have skyrocketed. Samsung’s privacy technologies seek to provide the protection and control that the user needs and, at the moment, the Samsung Knox platform has more than 70 million managed devices per day.
“Our commitment is to ensure that our Samsung Knox security platform and accompanying suite of solutions perform optimally both now and in the futurein order to meet the growing needs of our customers going forward,” reiterates the company.
To do this, it also incorporates the solution Samsung Knox Vaultwhich works like a security box that physically isolates PIN numbers, passwords, and other private information so that hackers cannot access it. Through this tool, Samsung encrypts the most sensitive data and protects it from physical attacks, thanks to an improved algorithm that also prevents side channel attacks.
“Samsung Knox Vault’s ability to store sensitive information – such as Android Keystore keys, SAKs, biometrics and blockchain credentials – prevents third-party access, even if the password has been compromised,” the company concludes.
