Saudi Arabia and the US announce a new ceasefire between the RSF and the Army in Sudan

June 18 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Saudi Arabian Foreign Ministry has announced a new 72-hour ceasefire between the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and the Army in Sudan, which will begin this Sunday.

“Saudi Arabia and the United States announce that the representatives of the Sudanese Army and the RSF have agreed to a 72-hour ceasefire that will begin on June 18 at 6:00 a.m. –local time– until June 21,” according to a statement from the ministry posted on his Twitter account.

The parties to the conflict have agreed to prohibit movements and assaults, the use of military aviation or drones, artillery attacks, the reinforcement of positions and the resupply of troops.

In addition, while not attempting to seek military advantage for the duration of the agreement, the two sides have agreed to allow the entry of humanitarian assistance throughout the country.
