These figures are very low and have forced Samsung to lay off workers at its Taylor facility in the US state of Texas, with plans to reduce its workforce outside Korea by a staggering 30%.

If this performance is not improved, the company will be at a disadvantage compared to its main competitor: TSMC, which, according to the information provided, would have a yield of around 60-70%. Combining the processes of 3 and less nanometers, Samsung finds itself with an average yield of 50%. In addition, the subsidies that the US offers to chip manufacturers are not applied if the factories do not operate without problems.

TrendForce has taken the opportunity to create a ranking of the 10 largest chip manufacturing companies by profits in the last quarter, and the results are surprising: Samsung has profits of 3.833 billion dollars (a growth of 14.2%, with a market share of 11.5%, 0.5% more than last year.

However, it is still far behind TSMC, which dominates the market with an iron fist, with a 62.3% share and profits of $20.819 billion, showing a growth of 10.5%.
