2 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Saharawi Association for the Defense of Human Rights (ASADEDH) denounces and condemns the “serious aggression” by militiamen of the Polisario Front against relatives of the first secretary of the Saharawi Movement for Peace (MSP), Hach Ahmed Bericalla.
The events occurred during the early hours of March 29, in which there were several injuries of “various severity”, according to a statement sent by ASADEH this Saturday.
In addition, the organization has attributed the attack to “revenge” because the success of MSP “has called into question the Polisario’s representation of the Saharawi population.”
Due to the aggression, the inhabitants of the refugee camp in Dakhla (Algeria) have reacted with protests to which the Polisario Front responded with a “strong military device to repress the demonstrators”.
ASADEDH has concluded by asking international organizations that defend Human Rights and the UN to put pressure on the Polisario and Algeria to put an end to “inhumane practices” against the civilian population.
