The President of Ukraine, Volodimir Zelensky, stressed to the Dutch Parliament during his visit to the country that “no aggressor will now think that he can destroy the values of Europe” and has pointed out that Russia “is trying to hide its own weakness”. .

“I am grateful because we have achieved the greatest possible unity in Europe, one that people have been dreaming of for decades, and this would not have happened without the help of the Netherlands and its leadership,” Zelensky said.

For this reason, he has praised the fact that the Netherlands has “defended freedom, the rule of law and democracy”, as well as “Europe and its lifestyle”. “I am grateful that The Hague is becoming a hub of justice on behalf of all those who have suffered assault and other crimes,” she said.

Likewise, he has stated that the NATO summit scheduled for July is an opportunity to “cut off the oxygen to Russian revenge once and for all” and has qualified that “it is time to get out of the uncertainty in terms of security” in Europe.

“It is absurd to leave Ukraine outside the legal framework of our common territory, which is Europe,” he asserted before drawing a parallel and pointing out that “it would be like leaving part of the Netherlands outside the country’s legal framework, in a gray area.” .

In this sense, he has asked the Dutch authorities “to make important decisions at a strategic level for the security of Europe” and recalled that “defense implies more weapons”.

“We want to destroy the evil of these terrorist states,” he continued in relation to the actions of the Russian troops. “Every week we see something terrible. (…) Nuclear power plant occupations, missile launches…”, he stated before clarifying that these “ruinous acts must make the country lose”.

Zelenski has asserted that “the terrorist state must feel that the world does not want to continue to cross paths with them” and has called for more sanctions and more isolation for Moscow, to “put pressure on its citizens and make them see that a regime change in their country is necessary”. .
