The Russian Armed Forces have carried out a test on Tuesday with anti-ship missiles in the Gulf of Peter the Great, located in the Sea of Japan, as confirmed by the Russian Defense Ministry, which has indicated that two vessels have carried out practices against a simulated enemy.
Thus, it has indicated in a statement published on its website that two vessels, part of the Pacific Fleet, have participated in “planned combat training activities” in which they have launched two ‘Moskit’ cruise missiles, known as ‘ SS-N-22 Sunburn’ within NATO.
The Ministry has detailed that both vessels have carried out an attack against “a simulated enemy warship” that was about a hundred kilometers away, before assuring that “it was successfully hit by a direct hit of two missiles of cruiser ‘Moskit'”.
“The security of the combat exercise has been guaranteed by ships and planes of the Naval Aviation of the Pacific Fleet,” it has reported. After that, the Japanese Foreign Minister, Yoshimasa Hayasi, has indicated that the Russian troops have “intensified” their activities in the eastern end of the country, according to the Japanese news agency Kiodo.
