RTVE has announced this Wednesday its joining the agreement reached by the EBU and FIFA for the broadcast in Spain of the 2023 Women’s Soccer World Cup, which will be held in Australia and New Zealand from July 20 to August 20. .

Specifically, the corporation will broadcast the 25 main matches of the tournament, one per competition day, including all the matches played by the Spanish team, the opening match, the semifinals and the final.

In addition, it will carry out extensive coverage on television, radio and digital media, with a team of special envoys that will cover the entire competition on the different RTVE platforms, with special monitoring in the information spaces, as reported by the corporation in a statement.

FIFA and the EBU have reached an agreement to extend the broadcasting rights of the Women’s Soccer World Cup to the five main European territories. In this way, RTVE, ARD/ZDF (Germany), BBC/ITV (United Kingdom), France Télévisions (France) and RAI (Italy) join the rest of the European public television channels to broadcast this important sporting event.

Thus, FIFA and the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) have agreed to extend their already existing broadcast rights agreement, ensuring that the upcoming FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia and New Zealand 2023 will be broadcast on the free-to-air television network of the EBU in 34 European countries.

“The agreement represents a broad commitment to the promotion of women’s soccer competitions beyond the tournament, with long-term development strategies for women’s sports in Europe,” RTVE highlighted.
