RSF reiterates "its unwavering commitment" to the ceasefire agreement in Sudan

May 28. (EUROPE PRESS) –

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF, for its acronym in English) have reiterated this Saturday “its unwavering commitment to the short-term ceasefire agreement and humanitarian arrangements, which were officially endorsed in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on the 20th of May”.

“We affirm our willingness to enter into further negotiations during the last two days of the armistice under the mediation between Saudi Arabia and the United States to explore the feasibility of extending the ceasefire and humanitarian arrangements,” they explained on their Twitter account.

They have added that “the short-term ceasefire agreement stipulates that both parties must inform the Monitoring and Coordination Committee of their intention to extend the agreement no later than 9:45 p.m. (local time) on May 27,” for which the RSF “will continue to closely monitor the armistice until its conclusion on May 29. This will serve as an assessment of the sincerity and commitment of the other party to renew the agreement or renounce its extension.”
