After various rumors and reports, PlayStation finally confirmed The Last of Us: Part I last month. Although it will include several improvements and could be considered the definitive edition of the acclaimed 2013 title, for many the remake does not justify the full price ($70 USD) that Sony assigned to it to such an extent that some consider it to be a cash-grab or moneybags. A developer who worked on the project spoke up and responded to these criticisms.
The Last of Us debuted in 2013 and quickly became not only one of the best games of that year, but of all time. The title did so well that PlayStation released a remastered version 13 months later to take advantage of the features of the PlayStation 4, the company’s former new console. History will repeat itself almost 1 decade later, now on PlayStation 5 (and PC) with The Last of Us: Part Ia title that seeks to offer the definitive experience that will include, mainly, graphic and artificial intelligence improvements.
We have already been able to take a look at this renewal and although the improvements are noticeable, the great similarity with the original game has made many think that it is not worth paying full price for them, especially if the original title or the remastering has already been played. , since they do not consider them substantial, apart from the fact that there will be no modifications to the story or additional content.
