As detailed by the Russian authorities, Putin is scheduled to hold meetings with the general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party, Nguyen Phu Trong; the country’s president, To Lam; and the Prime Minister, Pham Minh Tinh, among other local leaders, according to the TASS news agency.

This is the fifth time that the Russian president heads to Vietnam for an official visit. The last one took place in November 2017, when Putin traveled to the Asian country to attend a summit of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum.

Putin has landed in Hanoi after spending just 24 hours in North Korean territory, where he has had time to participate in several ceremonies and tributes, as well as sign a strategic partnership agreement with Kim, who in recent times has become a partner. important in Moscow.
