The President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, asserted this Wednesday that unmanned aerial vehicles are “gradually but fundamentally” changing the principles of armed operations thanks to advances in their technology, especially the expansion of their range of action.
“Modern unmanned aerial vehicles are gradually but fundamentally changing the principles of carrying out armed operations (…) They gain greater speed, their engines become very powerful and they have a greater range of action,” said the Russian president. according to TASS.
President Putin has asserted that the drones produced by the Russian arms industry can now exceed speeds of up to 700 kilometers per hour and “can carry out tasks that previously could only be carried out by the Army and combat aviation.”
Likewise, he stressed that modern drones can even “counter large aircraft”, thus opening a new “very promising” range of possibilities in war conflicts.
