This is the main claim of the participants in the demonstrations on August 11 in Sahiwal, Vehari and Multan, organized by Voice for Justice (VFJ), on the occasion of National Minorities Day.
Several personalities participated in the protest. the president of VFJJoseph Jansen, highlighted the fundamental role that Christians and Hindus play in the country: “It is unfortunate that religious minorities have faced injustice and discrimination, despite having contributed significantly to the founding of Pakistan” .
In Lahore, the organization Rwadari Tehreek Pakistan He went on a two-day hunger strike in front of the Punjab Provincial Assembly to express his discontent and concern about the minority representation system, which is considered unfair and undemocratic. The demonstrators demanded urgent reforms to guarantee respect for the civil rights of minority citizens, who must also be guaranteed the possibility of electing their representatives through the vote.
The hunger strike was led by Samson Salamat, president of Rwadari Tehreekwhich was joined by well-known local political and religious leaders who expressed their closeness and solidarity with minorities and their claims.
