The new ‘popular’ mayoress of Guadalajara: “I am not ashamed to agree with Vox”
Further
The number 2 salary in the City Council is also raised, the Vox councilor Francisco Javier Toquero who, in his capacity as first deputy mayor, will earn 62,496 gross euros. compared to the 58,241 euros that his predecessor in office, the Councilor for Citizens, Rafael Pérez Borda, received (46,468 euros net per year, according to the corresponding declaration of assets).
Toquero was already a councilor in the last legislature and then he was not released (he did not charge from the City Council). According to the declaration of assets and income that he presented after his termination, he received a net salary of 20,761, 89 euros for “work income”, according to the record.
The spokesman for the Municipal Group of the PP, Alfonso Esteban, assured today during the plenary session that “the remuneration is the same as that received by the members of the previous government team. Not one more euro cent is raised ”, he said, to affirm that “it cannot be compared with those of four years ago ”. The PP mayor thus justified, without citing him, the rise in the CPI applied to the municipal salaries that the mayoress and the councilors will receive, also adjusting to what is established by the General Budget Law for 2023 on remuneration based on the number of inhabitants.
“It is totally legal”, assured the Vox councilor, Víctor Morejón, in the only intervention made by the far-right formation during the plenary session.
Socialist spokeswoman Sara Simón criticized the lack of prior “information” on compensation and releases. “There have been no talks with the opposition. Four years ago we sat down to explain it in the Board of Spokespersons”, when PSOE and Ciudadanos took over the municipal government.
The number of those freed with exclusive dedication is also growing
In addition, the new municipal government will have a total of 11 people released with exclusive dedication. Eleven will be from the PP and three from Vox. It is one more of those that the previous team had, made up of PSOE and Ciudadanos. The PSOE will have four councilors with exclusive dedication of the eleven that it has in total. In addition, the government team will have the other two councilors part-time, receiving 85% of their salary.
In the list of positions of the Corporation under a regime of exclusive dedication appear the mayoress-president, the four deputy mayors and spokespersons for the PSOE, PP and Vox groups, and the councilors with specific delegations or with responsibilities for supervision and municipal control in as members of groups that are not part of the government team.
The proposal was unanimously approved today in plenary session, establishing the number of part-time councilors at three, including here the salary of the Aike Group councilor, Susana Martínez, who is assigned a 50% dedication, with remuneration equivalent to that 50% of those set for each spokesperson.
“Although we have a representation of a single councilwoman, it does not mean that we are 50% in plenary sessions, commissions or spokespersons’ meetings,” criticized Susana Martínez about the allocation of her salary. “It hurts the groups with less representation that have half the resources and does not adjust to the action that is carried out. It was never like that until 2019 ”, she lamented.
In addition, there will be two councilors with specific and partial delegations or responsibilities of 85% –one for the PP and the other for Vox–, with the remuneration also being 85% of those set for the councilors with exclusive dedication.
Apart from the remuneration of the mayoress, that of the first deputy mayor, Javier Toquero, will be 62,496 euros, with those of the second, third and fourth deputy mayor being the same as that of the first and also identical to that of the spokespersons for the PP, Vox and PSOE, while the rest of the full-time councilors will receive a salary of 59,496.
In the same way, the members of the Corporation who carry out their positions without exclusive or partial dedication, will receive, for assistance to the municipal bodies of which they are a part, an amount of 45 euros, the same amount that they received up to now.
