Pokémon Go will have a new map design and more options to customize the avatar

April 16 (Portaltic/EP) –

Pokémon Go will have a new image as part of a series of updates that Niantic will deploy globally in the coming weeks, which will expand the avatar customization options and link the map to the real place where the user is.

Niantic encourages you to “rediscover” its most popular augmented reality title for mobile phones, Pokémon Go, which will soon have “a new look” that will change the game map and the encounter and battle screens depending on where the player is.

The development studio will also update the avatar and fashion store customization options, and introduce a new instant photography experience, as reported in its official blog.

These changes are part of a series of updates that Niantic will progressively roll out around the world, starting with the new features in avatar customization that will arrive starting April 17.

Later, on the 22nd of the same month, the 'Rediscover your world' update will be available, with which dynamic images will arrive that change depending on the real environment, the same day that the one titled 'Rediscover Kanto' will be launched and which will allow you to search for the Pokémon originating from this region according to the biomes.

On May 7th 'Rediscover your reality' will arrive with the latest in photography. The new snapshot function will allow up to three Pokémon to be included in the same photo. It will be available first to a group of players in Australia.

This is one of the most notable updates to the game since its launch in July 2016 for mobile phones, in which it takes advantage of mapping and augmented reality technologies to offer an adventure superimposed on the real world in which to catch all the Pokémon and fight against other trainers and Team Rocket.
