9 Jan. (Portaltic/EP) –
The interest for pokemon cards and non-fungible tokens (N.F.T. for its acronym in English) has led some users of these collectibles to be victims of a scam that offered to download a new video game of the franchise.
A website designed to look legitimate offered access to a new pokemon card game in NFT format, with which players could gain fun and profit.
However, as they explain ASEC analysts, the game download actually installed a NetSupport trojan that connected to a server controlled by a malicious actor, to receive information from the victim’s computer and control it remotely.
This ‘phishing’ campaign inspired by the pokemon game leads active since last month, according to the analysts who have identified it.
