Well, after almost 1 week, the players got to work and the whole situation turned out to be a farce, but a very impressive one that, far from causing anger, was appreciated by the fans.
The feat that we told you about days ago continued to develop and today it came to an end thanks to an incredible participation from the community through reddit after being surprised that sadfutago found an area never seen in the title.
With the help of the community, sadfutago continued to unravel the riddle and delve into the hidden parts of the uncharted area that the community came to know as the “church.”

What was the church hiding? NieR: Automata?
The last time we reported this to you, the community suggested that sadfutago reach this place, but with android 9S and thus open the chest that was in the area. The user did as suggested and this enabled a battle against the previously inert enemy.
sadfutago referred to having defeated the opponent. The user then shared several mysterious posts in which he attached images of a dark area with a towering upside-down statue.
In the publications they did not explain anything, but included initials that when put together formed sadfutago’s Twitch account, in which a live broadcast, “finale”, was carried out, which would reveal the whole truth.

Speculation was wild. Fans believed that it was a marketing strategy to promote the game’s upcoming release on Nintendo Switch, which was reinforced by mysterious comments from the producer and the director of the project.
Still others expected it to be something related to new content or a completely new title, like a new installment of drakengard. It was not ruled out that everything was part of an elaborate joke through the use of mods… and that is precisely what it was.
In the sadfutago stream, Twitch user account ze34_zinnia revealed that he was responsible for the fictional user’s posts on reddit. Responsible for this project are DevolasRevenge (map designer), Woeful_Wolf (Blender tools developer), RaiderB (script tools developer). According to them, they were looking for a social experience, something made by the fans for the fans, this time it was to bring the community together, but they didn’t expect it to have such an impact, just cause some confusion on Twitter.
“Everything we’ve shared has been completely in-game, no editing used. We’ve loved all the discussion and theories, it’s been an amazing ride. It’s been inspiring to see the community come together after so many years, it’s made everything the hard work paid off. We hope everyone enjoyed it, we certainly did,” said those responsible.

Despite the fact that they played with the community of the title and deceived it with a very elaborate mod, the community did not take it as an insult, but rather appreciated the initiative, because, in fact, it was a great adventure that was worthwhile and that received as a breath of fresh air for the community.
The modders promised to share Blender plugins and scripting tools, which are open source, in the coming days. Also, the full mod will be shared so that all fans can enter the mysterious church. Best of all, they anticipate more content to come, specifically a new mod from RaiderB that is “ready to go.”
Something interesting is that even the creators of the original game, Yoko Taro and Yosuke Saito, seem to have cooperated with the modders, because when questioned online about this mod they could well have confessed that it was precisely something unofficial and thus put an end to the fantasy, but they didn’t. The above is appreciated, because in the end this left interaction in the community and memes, and incidentally it worked to somehow open the conversation about a game that has been on the market for more than 5 years.
