Netflix ha reduced prices on your subscription fees at more than 30 countriesamong them, some from Latin America and others such as Croatia, Slovenia or Bulgaria, in an attempt to maintain its users given the increase in competition with other platforms and decision-making as the end of shared accounts.
The US streaming service company intends to maintain its position as one of the giants in this sector before the competence with other platforms like HBO Max, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+ or Apple TVamong others.
In this sense, Netflix has been implementing some changes in recent months. One of them has been the launch of the ‘Basic with ads’ subscription plan consolidating itself as the more affordable option for 5.49 euros.
In the same way, another of the most notorious innovations has been the end of account sharing option between different households, which was imposed in Spain at the beginning of February. To do this, the platform created functions designed for use in a single house, such as set a primary location related to the account and create subaccounts for users who do not live for 5.99 euros, addition to the subscription price.
Now Netflix is making changes to the prices of the subscription plans. Specifically, as pointed out The Wall Street Journalhas lowered subscription prices in more than 30 countries going to cost, in some cases, 9.99 euros per month for the Premium subscription. These countries span from the Middle East to Africa, Asia and Europe, in addition to some Latin American countries, where prices had already been reduced.
Specifically, as can be seen in the Netflix plans and pricing pagethe countries with reduced subscriptions are Croatia, Slovenia, BulgariaYemen, Jordan, Libya, Iran, KenyaMalaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Philippines.
As for the Latin American countriesthe platform began to update the reduced prices last February 13 in countries like bolivian, Cuba, Venezuela, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Ecuador, Guatemala and Panama, among others. Despite all this, for the moment Netflix has not announced any changes in subscription fees for Spain, which maintains the 17.99 euros in the Premium plan.
According to Statement from a Netflix spokesperson collected by The Wall Street Journal, these changes in the prices of subscription plans are preceded by the competition of Netflix with respect to other platforms. “We know that members have never had so many options when it comes to entertainment.“, said the spokeswoman, at the same time that she assured that the company is committed to “provide a experience that exceeds your expectations.
