Netanyahu says Israel must end Hamas to prevent Iran from taking over the Middle East

June 27 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, assured this Thursday that Iran intends to take over the Middle East, including Saudi Arabia, and the first step to prevent it is to end Hamas.

“The first requirement is to cut off that hand, Hamas,” Netanyahu said during a meeting this Thursday with a delegation from the American think tank Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs. “We will get rid of them,” he assured.

Netanyahu said that it is not enough to deal with Hamas alone, but that Israel must also deter other elements of the “terrorist axis of Iran,” in a clear allusion to the Shiite militia party Hezbollah, in order to prevent this “conquest” of the Middle East.

“We have to deal with the axis,” Netanyahu said, pointing to Israel as the first link Iran will try to get rid of before attacking Europe and the United States. “It is only a matter of time,” he said.

END HAMAS TO TARGET HEZBOLLAH

On the other hand, the head of the Israeli Air Force, Major General Tomer Bar, has assured that the defeat of Hamas is increasingly closer. “We are in the middle of the longest war in our history (…) We have been fighting without respite, tirelessly for almost nine months,” he praised.

“Hamas in Gaza will soon be defeated,” the head of the Air Force has predicted, adding that after defeating the Palestinian Islamist group, the army will be ready to confront Hezbollah in the north,” The Times of Israel reports.

“We have the means to do it, we have the capabilities, we really have the patience and the fighting spirit,” he said.
