Nearly 30 people die in a landslide in eastern DRC

Around 30 people have died due to a landslide registered on Sunday in the town of Bulwa, located in the province of North Kivu, in the east of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), as confirmed Monday by sources from the civil society in the area.

The president of civil society in Osso-Bayungu, Muphirwa Bukuya Fabrice, has indicated in statements to the Congolese news portal Opinion-Info that the balance is provisional, since there are several missing people and it is feared that they have been buried.

At the moment the causes of the event in Bulwa are unknown, where the residents themselves are working to try to remove debris and earth to try to find the victims alive and recover the bodies of the deceased.
