In this regard, Musk has described the decision to close nuclear power plants as “tragic”, although he has declared himself a great defender of renewable energies, and has indicated that the German Executive should reverse course and increase atomic energy production.
Musk, whose electric car manufacturer Tesla has a major plant on the outskirts of the German capital, Berlin, has taken the opportunity to denounce what he considers to be bureaucracy and high taxes, something that Weider has also criticized.
In another vein, the AfD candidate has defended herself against criticism of her party for its references to Nazism, stating that Adolf Hitler “was a type of communist socialist” and that her “conservative-libertarian party (…) is exactly the opposite.” The billionaire, for his part, has also described the dictator as a “socialist” since he “nationalized industries like crazy.”
Musk, who will occupy a position in the next Administration of the elected American president, Donald Trump, has expressed in recent weeks his sympathy for the AfD, a formation that he considers to be the only alternative for a successful future for Germany.
The European country will hold parliamentary elections on February 23 and the AfD appears in most polls in second position, only behind the conservative bloc led by the CDU. However, the cordon sanitaire imposed by all parties on the extreme right makes it difficult for the AfD to end up governing, as was demonstrated in the regional elections in Saxony and Thuringia.
