We’ve been talking for a few days about the uproar caused by the CEO of Reddit, the social network that is going to make changes to the social network’s API to prevent third-party applications from being able to work at all.
This led to a strong response from its users, who saw how not only was the possibility of using third-party applications going to be taken away, but that the moderators of the subreddits were not going to be able to work – for free – with the same efficiency as before.
Now, this drama has spread to Minecraft, and it is that the company has decided to jump ship on Reddit to use other means of communication with its users. In this way, we basically find that Reddit is not going to launch official communications through Reddit, nor will feedback be collected through this network.
From now on, if we need to get in touch with the Minecraft team, we will have to go through this web page dedicated to it, while the official announcements will be made on the game’s website. Obviously, the unofficial announcements -which are basically summarized in copies of the official ones- can be found on Reddit or Discord, among other places, as well as on the Minecraft wiki.
