According to the former US vice president, Putin will not settle for invading Ukraine alone, which could affect the United States

Former US Vice President Mike Pence has warned on Friday that Russian President Vladimir Putin will not be satisfied with invading Ukraine alone, asking Republicans not to stop supporting arms shipments to Kiev.
The ‘number two’ during the Trump Administration has argued that, although “this is not America’s war,” if the country flanks in its commitment to defending Ukraine’s freedom, Americans will soon be called upon to defend theirs. , as he said in an interview with NBC News.
“If we surrender to the siren song of those in this country who argue that the United States has no interest in the cause of freedom, history teaches that we may soon put our own in harm’s way,” the former US vice president stressed.
In this sense, he has affirmed that there can be no place in the leadership of the Republican Party for Putin’s apologists, rejecting the positions of some members of the party who have been favorable to the Russian president.
Pence’s remarks come after Florida Governor and potential 2024 Republican presidential candidate Ron DeSantis expressed opposition to open support for Ukraine and questioned the possibility of Russia trying to invade other countries.
Although he has not confirmed anything so far, Trump’s former ‘number two’ is considering a possible presidential candidacy and a decision is expected in the coming weeks.
So far, Trump and former US ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley have already announced their candidacies, while other Republican members are expected to make decisions on whether to run in the coming months.
