All users who have used Windows Vista or Windows 7 they will remember the widgets that were pinned to the desktop, which were removed for security reasons. Now, as we can read in Windows Central, it seems that they will have a spiritual return in Windows 11.
At the time, with the launch of Windows 11, we had the Widgets panel, a panel that we can hide to leave our favorite widgets there, but usually we have to go looking for them to see them. Likewise, in 2022 the panel would be open to third-party developers, something that allowed expanding the variety of widgets present.
Now, we find ourselves with the situation that Microsoft would be considering allowing the pinning of widgets to the desktop, so we can kind of replicate the experience we had in Windows Vista and Windows 7, where the widgets were always present wherever we had left them.
The widget library has gradually grown to currently include up to 13 widgets that we will be able to pin to the desktop in the future, so this will be quite useful functionality that will last over time if implemented correctly. For now, this information comes exclusively from windows centralSo it’s not official.
